Bio: Sarah was the first child of George and Rose Whiting and was born in Withersfield sometime before 1831. She was baptised at Withersfield Church on 27th March 1831.

She appears on the 1841 census living in Withersfield village with George and Rose, her grandfather Henry Rowlinson, and her brother and sisters. She has a half-brother Samuel, who was Rose's son from before marriage.

On the 1851 census we find Sarah, occupation not given, still at the family home. Here she is also on the 1861 census. She has not married.

Sarah is living at home again on the 1871 census, this time listed as being a domestic servant.

On the 1881 census, she is living alone with her widowed father in Withersfield and is his housekeeper.

Both of her parents were dead by the time of the next census, and Sarah is now a boarder in Withersfield with John and Elizabeth Martin, an agricultural labourer and his wife who are Sarah's sister and brother-in-law.

This is the last time we see Sarah. She dies in 1893 and is buried at the local church. (3,4)
