Bio:               Elsie was born on 7th January 1915 and baptised on 4th April 1915 at St Andrew's church, Walthamstow, along with her older sister Alice Whiting. Her father Frederick was a marine store dealer, living at 52 Crowland Road, Haverhill, at the time. (1,2)

Elsie grew up in Haverhill and is shown on the 1921 census living at 52 Crowland Road with her parents Frederick and Clara and sister Alice (3).

On the 1939 Register, Elsie was shown as still being single and living with Frederick and Clara Whiting at 23 Hamlet Road, Haverhill (4). 

Elsie never married and did not have children as far as is known.

Elsie had still been living at 23 Hamlet Road when she died aged 85 on 18th December 2000. She was cremated at Cambridge Crematorium on 2nd January 2001 (5,6).
