Bio: Beatrice was second daughter of John Whiting and Kate Kiddy, who ran and lived in the Royal Standard pub in Burton End, Haverhill. She was born in 1895(1), and appears on the 1901 census living at the pub with her parents and sisters, Lily May, Gladys and Annie.

On the 1911 census, Beatrice is 15, still living at home and is working as a servant. The family are now living at 96 Burton End, and John is no longer the publican of the Royal Standard. He is working as a silk weaver.

We see a marriage between Beatrice Whiting and Albert Sidney Beavis in 1926 in the Risbridge district.(2) Where this took place is unclear, but Albert Beavis was an inhabitant of Haverhill and the son of Harry Beavis and Lily Cracknell. He can be seen at 15 Duddery Road on the 1911 census working as an errand boy and living with his parents.

Albert and Beatrice moved to London after their marriage, and we can see them on the 1929 Electoral Registers living at 50 Cotleigh Road, West Hampstead, in the Kilburn Polling district,(3) before moving to 66 Messina Avenue in the same district on the 1930 registers. The couple had a son, John Allen Beavis in 1932.(4) They stayed there until 1935, and then can be seen at 11 Cotleigh Road on the 1936 register. They are still there in 1952, and it appears that they remained at this address through until 21st January 1965 which was when Albert died. Probate with effects of £391 was granted to widow Beatrice.(5)

Her granddaughter Anne says Beatrice died in 1976 at 11 Cotleigh Road.(6) Her birth date is given as 10th September 1895 which fits well.
