Haverhill St Mary's Burials

The original parish registers of St Mary's Church are kept at the Bury St Edmunds branch of the Suffolk Records Office in series FL578/4 and start from 1660. They are not always complete or easy to decipher, and the earlier burials have very little information about the individuals concerned apart from the date on which the burial occurred. However, they are available to look at on microfiche, and the later ones do include the age and abode of the deceased.

The entries below are for all the WHITING surnames or variants (not including ones with an 'F' like WHIFFIN) that can be found amongst the burials at St Mary's Church. These stopped when the cemetery opened in 1867.

I have listed the date, name, status given in the burial entry, and where given the age and residence of the person concerned.

The 'notes' column contains extra information I have discovered about the person that is not present on the original burial entry. The source of the information is recorded as well as the General Register Office death certificate index reference where available.
Names underlined in blue have a link to the page of the individual.

For burials later than 1867 see the Haverhill Cemetery page.
